Spectacle Bliss Watching from the crowd the drama procession Screams out loud telling lies A voice on the phone making concessions Spectacle bliss, cover my eyes Then a man in a suite with a red dress tourniquet Covers the blood and wipes the sweat from his brow Traffic on hold looking at a headline All of the people he knew, will be watching the news He was a leader at work, never had a bad word to say Watching from the crowd the drama unfold, it seems to late to make a mends Sirens sound, storey book conclusion Breaking ground with this new idea Can’t catch a thief with biscuits and cheese, a glass of wine While they’re selling you ideas, red neck purse, a scrapbook of tears Send them off to war, like legions through years.

AMERICA 02:57
America When You’re on the sea shore Making castles in the sand Dig a tunnel to America, to a foreign distant land See through the eyes of a song, haven’t had that feeling for so long When you’re in the middle of a dream, that seems to last forever Days into weeks, weeks into half a lifetime Filled with faces that you’ve known Watching the sun shine, rising in the east By the bi-line, interrupting piece Ride on the crest of a wave, cruising solo on the foam Chased by a fin chased by a feeling, this urge to return to home See through the eyes of a song, a place you haven’t seen for so long
4.
Crystal Light Your Crystal light burning like a vampire Your Crystal light, catch those blazing wings Your Crystal light, warming by the campfire Your Crystal light catch, leaves me blind tonight What’s that mystery crawling on the floor, in the corner of my eye Spy game laughter, four-leaf clover What’s that noise keeping me awake in the middle of the night Sparkle nightlight, sci-fi action. Your Crystal light fight, struggle with your temper Your Crystal light plight, feeling low tonight Your Crystal light fight, putting out the bush fire Your Crystal light plight, I’ll stay clean tonight
5.
Dream Parity Mirror In the rear vision mirror, the temperature falls through the floor Can’t keep my eye’s peeled The thought is trembling my hands You can’t sleep for thinking full of fear. Body buried near, conscious In its grave yard Because it seems to whisper in my ear, filling me with fear Like a child in a cold sweat dream Reflected in the mirror, eyes closed windows to my soul I keep remembering, the feelings that live inside a bad dream I keep surrendering All these rhythms of night like a twinkle in the sky All these Feelings that grow like a moonflower All these faces that come back to life wen you’re asleep All these places that turn into something very old
6.
I dream Strangely In the summertime, the birds wake up the dawn In the summertime, the neighbour mows his lawn I dream strangely about the people living at my work Clouds form proudly ready to unleash their fill In the evening the light begins to fade In the evening we inhabit the beds we’ve made Reading the pages of my mind as rain drops break the drought Sifting through the water for a golden find, connection with a distant heart Memory like a train pulling away, growing distant in the morning due Headlines like a child playing in the rain In the evening the light is fading fast In the evening the trees are growing dark – wait for tomorrow In the evening the creatures come out to play I dream strangely about the people living at my work Clouds form proudly waiting to unleash their spill, to spill their fill
7.
TREASURE MAP 02:48
Treasure Map Open your eyes to the world around you Reading the queues for the lies that come true Pieces of puzzle that form a dreamscape Tiptoe through mess try to find an escape Treasure map pauses on top of heartbeat Arrows and lines on the sidewalk back street Pictures in frames piled up in storage Promise and hope of a former glory In the confusion, of the floor Lie treasures and coins.
8.
The Cat and The Fiddle We must work solo, cleaning up the floor I can’t help thinking; I’ve done this all before But then you find a missing piece of jewellery The cat and the fiddle come back to me The wishbone and broom stick fly away again to the wishing tree Catacombs of doubt fill me up endlessly Silver fish waterfall, here the cicada’s call It’s approaching that time OD day everybody needs to rest again The sun is falling lower than sidewalk The rhythm play is coming to an end Parent duty in the spot-light, avoid the traps and little fights Prepare yourself for another day, surrendering to come what may Chocolate and wine, fall to sleep on the couch listening to the news
9.
Bishop In Three Lost in the lavender mist, chased like a storm on the heels of a leadership spill Crest fallen ragged and grey, everyone speaks ill of the fallen king Place move strategy clear, eyes on poetry gold Black white feathers and rules, late night stories of old His next move is shown in his animal body rhythm play movements Streams of broken lines cut across his face, changing colour from the drenching wine Stage turns cloudy and grey, cobwebs bottle and turn Rook takes Bishop in three, hand chin puzzle and curse Lost in the lavender mist, chased like a storm on the heels of a leadership spill
10.
Mad Dippy Daft Bats in the belfry, mad dippy daft looking over land Darkening fields gazing over the country side Silence came followed by an animal on the prowl Climbs up a tree high above the English countryside Bats in the belfry, mad dippy daft looking over land Eerie in the darkening wood, light will soon dispel his silly ideas Try to call out, tongue tied, petrified, the stars come out to play Eagerly trying to be the best you can
11.
Teddy Bears Are Blind Reflected in the glass the vision of a flower bed Wallflowers, roses and daises Wilting in the heat, waiting for a thunderstorm Clean the plates of yesterday’s dinner Everything you see, flowers in the tree, glasses in the sink, huckleberry wink See the writing on the wall with permanent marker Morning Peter Pan, glove over a hand, silver trails wind, teddy bears are blind See the writing on the floor with makeup and mascara These days of playing, are most important, are a storey before sleep Keeps the eyes awake, the mind ablaze with dreams Try to sail a boat spinning in a waterfall Look backwards upon these emotions Charged with the job of cleaning up the living room Piece by piece, wrapper and clothing Everything you see, flowers in the tree, glasses in the sink, huckleberry wink Morning Peter Pan, glove over a hand, silver trails wind, teddy bears are blind Riding to the shops, buying lolly pops, flowers in your hair, live without a care Mending broken toys, playing with the boys, trampoline a dare, sleeping with a bear
12.
BLUES NEWS 03:48
NEWS BLUES Staring eyes, over the top smile, giving me the creeps What do you want me to say, I can beg steal or borrow I answer the phone, while you analyse the words The grass hasn’t been mown, the office looks like a hurricane has touched the ground here Staring eyes, a phoney smile, words are poison on your lips I can’t think what to say anymore Roster blues forgotten shifts, if you were in my place I answer the call, its just some miracle I’m taking a fall; there is nothing I can do to turn heart around There is nothing I can do.
13.
Plastic Drama Two people by the sea, one hand in reservation To be or not to be, underpinning the conversation Champaign and chocolate cake, one smile for information Head over heals for goodness sake, no disguising the situation Plastic drama, looking through his eyes that seem like keyholes, like keyholes Instant karma, moving in and out of focus like a camera, like a camera Two people hand in hand, one looking over his shoulder Walking barefoot on golden sand, feeling young though you are looking older Two people turn away, too proud for the invitation To be or not to be, turn the pages with expectation Open the door; cover my eyes, words for clothing Reflected in eyes, reflected in glass, awkward and shy Clothed in conversation, moonlight becomes you Two people by the sea, one hand in reservation To be or not to be, underpinning the conversation Plastic drama, looking through his eyes that seem like keyholes, like keyholes Instant karma, moving in and out of focus like a camera, like a camera
14.
Floor Puzzle Groove Destiny coming round the corner, galloping striding with intention Cubby house made with the bed cloths, clean house changed once again Rain is falling gently on the clean cloths A glass of wine on the weekend It’s been a long day; everything I thought might happen didn’t quite happen You’re just a small piece in a larger picture Everything I thought might happen didn’t quite happen You’re just a piece of a puzzle, scattered all over Everything I thought might happen didn’t quite happen You’re just a brick trying to squeeze through a hole called nothing Everything I thought would happen didn’t quite happen You’re just a cold call monkey talking in the larger Everything I thought would happen didn’t quite happen Everything I thought would happen almost did happen

about

This collection of songs sprung from a need to be loose and spontaneous with my song writing. Like automatic writing in a little black book, each track emerged shaped by the events of the day and were recorded in record time. I embraced once again a variety of improvised percussive additions that strive less for perfection than the feel of live music, dirty dinner plates and wine. Many songs were developed from a simple improvised theme, embellished in a single concentrated session, without thought of writing down cords or tuning.

about

Euie b Graham Canberra, Australia

Ending formal lessons on violin, I began writing songs in 1992, graduating to a four-track cassette recorder shortly after, and the addictive journey of composing then recording was entrenched. I continue, assimilating influences and forging my own way. I shy away from performing, I write, record then move on. I would love others to listen and enjoy, and hold out hope that I May find an audience. ... more
