LITTLE ROOM IN THE CORNER

from THE SECRET ACT OF SLEEPING by Euie b Graham

/

lyrics

There’s a little room in the corner above the stairs,
Above the drama of slamming doors and clenched teeth.
The room is made of glass and is a part of my captured soul.
A dark figure exists there, and provokes a frightened glance
From time to time.
A pervasive glow from the place
Gives the living room a funeral parlour gloom.

He’s having a heart attack - in there, in the other room.
My God, he’s gone, he’s gone!

All of the children are free, waiting for someone’s return.
Try not to look at the moon bathed in a pale, white gloom.
